Nik and I created this mobile sensor that broadcasts light levels and accelerometer data to an online database via text message. The above visualization was created by running around for five minutes. Light levels are represented by the opacity of blue and faster changes in tilt (when one is running with the sensor in hand, for instance) are represented by longer lines.

We are currently working on a proper write up that will include code and schematics.

Nik Hanselmann and I are exhibiting new work in the Porter Faculty Gallery this week. We will be showing a series of 15 large prints and a hand-bound book that represent our efforts to turn the everyday into a creative medium through the use of digital media.

The opening reception is Wednesday, March 11th (tomorrow!) from 4-6pm. The show will be up through March 20th.

Fun-A-Day in the Bay went really well. There were 40 amazing projects, 2 great performances and an enthusiastic crowd that packed the gallery for the entire night. The show went so well that Queen’s Nails has decided to have a second showing on March 14th, from 11-6pm.
