This January we will be holding our fifth anniversary Fun-A-Day Project! Guidelines for entry are simple. Create your own project and produce one piece of artwork each day for the entire month of January. Then submit your 31 pieces by February 7 to be included in our fifth anniversary show.

I began organizing this show in 2004 in Philadelphia with KaraCorey and Mike (and now Sharon is involved too). Last year there were also Fun-A-Day shows in Pittsburgh and Houston. I would love to do a California Fun-A-Day, but I don’t think I have enough free time. But if anyone wants to take on a large chunk of the organizing responsibilities, I would be happy to help. And hopefully some new Fun-A-Day shows will come together this year!

For the 24h Thesis I also created live video filters with Processing. These are composite frames of filtered video.

One of my projects for last week’s 24h Thesis was this noise-generating box. It has two speakers, four buttons and two potentiometers mounted on a cardboard box and connected together with a breadboard and an Arduino. Each button has a different sound, which can be modulated with the two potentiometers. It sounds like this:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

I’m still learning how to play it!
